TruSwing™ is the swing sensor with comprehensive swing metrics shown right on your wrist using compatible Approach® watches and on compatible Approach handhelds or the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

True Convenience

TruSwing™ is the swing sensor that allows you to stay fully focused during your training, no distraction by pulling out your smart phone or tablet to view your data. With TruSwing you can stay in position and check the swing metrics conveniently on your wrist using one of the compatible Approach® watches. TruSwing sensor is the only swing analysis tool that can interface with Garmin GPS golf devices. You’ll get at-a-glance data displays on Approach S4, S5, S6 and S20 watches as well as on Approach G7 and G8 handhelds. That means you can use the sensor during a practice round, even if you don’t want to carry your smartphone.

TruSwing also uniquely pairs with Approach S6 golf watch to provide additional wrist-path data. When using Approach S6 along with TruSwing, additional wrist-path data is recorded and displayed in the 3-D animation (available on Garmin Connect Mobile) to show how your wrist travels throughout the swing in relation to the club path.

Improves Performance, Away from the Links

You’ll see how these metrics help you improve when you join the Garmin Connect online golf community. There, you can upload and analyse your results — and compare them against your previous practice session. You can also use Garmin Connect™ Mobile app with your compatible smartphone to instantly share and discuss your metrics online with your golf pro or other friends and advisors.

TruSwing sensor gives you real-time, 3-D swing animations on the app, including comparisons between 2 swings, overlaid on each other. Analysis on Garmin Connect allows you to identify exactly where you can make changes. For example, by altering the combination of clubface angle and clubhead-path angle, you can make significant changes to your ball’s flight pattern.

Small, Light and Tight

TruSwing sensor is not only handy, it’s also small, light and unobtrusive. It mounts below the grip of any club by using a simple, robust clamp-on attachment that won’t slip or spin, so you can concentrate fully on your game.

¹Compatible with Approach S4, S5, S6 and S20 watches as well as Approach G7 and G8 handhelds.

Features

Swing Tempo

The ratio of the backswing to downswing time; based on studies of professional golfers, a 3 to 1 ratio, or 3.0, is the idea swing tempo. You can achieve the ideal 3.0 tempo regardless of your own swing timings. For example, 0.7/0.23 sec. or 1.2 sec./0.4 sec. both equal a 3.0 tempo.

Swing Speed.

The speed of the club head when it strikes the ball.

Club Path.

A measurement of your club’s horizontal motion in relationship to the target line when viewed from overhead as it strikes the ball. The swing path determines whether you strike the ball “in-to-out” or “out-to-in.”

Face-to-Target.

The angle you open or close the clubface, compared to the target line at the point of impact.

Dynamic Loft.

The angle between the shaft and the ground as measured from the center of the shaft. This measurement is taken at address and again at impact. Ideally, you want the shaft angle at impact to be close to the same angle it was at address.

Shaft Angle.

The angle you open or close the clubface, compared to the target line at the point of impact.

Shaft Lean.

The forward or backward angle you are holding the club when hitting the ball, measured from a 90-degree vertical angle. This measurement is taken at address and again at impact. The amount of shaft lean at impact affects the loft angle of the club.
